How is Lord Satyanarayan worshipped?

The puja begins with prayers to Lord Ganesha who is considered the destroyer of obstacles. Lord Ganesha is chanted by chanting mantras and offerings of modaks and laddus are made to him. After the Ganesha puja, the priest recites the Satyanarayan Katha which consists of 5 chapters. After completion of all 5 chapters (stories) of Satyanarayan Swamy, Aarti is performed followed by the distribution of Prasad offered in the Puja.
