Everyone worships God, worships, meditates, and performs Havan and Aarti with full devotion. It is said that the worship and Havan done without any mistake brings happiness and peace in life and special blessings of the Gods and Goddesses are received. On the other hand, if your small mistake is made during the worship havan can make God angry.

Avoid these mistakes during Havan

  • Use your ring finger only for worship and Tilak. Tilak is applied to the deities with this finger only.
  • To offer sacrifice in Havan, wear kusha or mango leaf on the ring finger, if both are not available, then you can also wear a gold ring.
  • Sacrifice the Havan material only by keeping it in bronze, brass, silver, gold and metal. Do not keep Havan material in steel or iron utensils.
  • Havan Kund should not be made of iron metal, instead, if possible, use a pot made of clay or brick only.
  • The seat in which you are performing Puja or Havan should never be kept by moving it from your feet. This does not give the virtue of worship or havan. Lay down and pick up the seat with respect only by hand.

  • Be sure to include Bael, Mango and Palash wood in the firewood. This gives auspicious results.
  • White sesame is not used in Havan material, but the material is prepared using only black sesame, barley, ghee, jaggery, dry fruits, camphor, guggal, and bel fruit.
  • The little finger, ring finger, middle finger and thumb should be used while sacrificing in Havan. Do not use your index finger for the offering.
