A lot of fenugreek has been available in the market in the winter season. If you are bored of eating the same type of rice, then this winter season tries healthy and tasty methi rice at home.

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • a cup of rice
  • 250 grams of fenugreek leaves
  • half a cup of green peas
  • oil or ghee as required
  • 1 finely chopped tomato
  • a finely chopped onion
  • two chopped green chilies
  • a piece of ginger
  • 7-8 garlic
  • Half a teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • Half a teaspoon of red chili powder
  • half teaspoon cumin
  • 2-3 small cardamom
  • salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves (for garnish)

Method :

  • First of all, cook the rice well in the cooker. Keep in mind that during this time the rice should not become too wet.
  • Now heat oil or ghee in a pan and heat it well.
  • After this, put cumin in the pan and then add ginger, green chili, small cardamom, and garlic and fry it well.
  • Now add onion and cook till it turns golden brown.
  • After this add tomato and cook it well and then roast fenugreek and peas as well.
  • After cooking for some time, add turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt to it.
  • Now take out this prepared mixture separately in a vessel.
  • After this, put a little ghee or oil in the pan and put the mixture of cooked rice and fenugreek in it.
  • After cooking for some time, garnish it with coriander leaves.
  • Now enjoy hot, tasty, and healthy Methi Rice with vegetables or chutney.
