Irritable bowel syndrome is a problem related to the digestive system. It causes problems like stomach ache, cramps, gas, constipation, diarrhoea and indigestion. This problem occurs due to an imbalance of bacteria in the intestines. Although IBS is usually not serious, it can interfere with everyday activities. This problem occurs due to wrong eating habits, lack of physical activity, stress and many other serious diseases.

Vegetable or coriander water

The first thing after waking up in the morning is to drink coriander or sabja seeds water. Both of these have a cooling effect on the body, which reduces swelling in the body. Also, eating them cleans the stomach and removes the problem of gas. They also regulate bowel movements.

Method

  • If you want to consume coriander water, then take half a glass of water before sleeping at night.
  • Soak 1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds in it.
  • Filter coriander water and drink it in the morning.
  • For sabja seeds, take water in 1 bowl.
  • Soak 1 teaspoon seeds in it for half an hour.
  • Then drink it with the seeds.

Astringent rich fruits

To avoid irritable bowel syndrome, include astringent-rich fruits like bananas, apples, papaya, pomegranate etc. in your diet. This is because these fruits regulate bowel movement.

Apart from vitamins and minerals, it is rich in fibre, which is good for the intestines.

Coconut water

Include it in your diet. You can control the problem of IBS by drinking coconut water daily. It also has cooling properties like the water of sabja seeds. Apart from this, it is rich in sodium and potassium. Both these things balance the electrolytes in the body.

Probiotic

It increases the good bacteria in our body and regulates bowel movements. Also, it keeps the intestinal health healthy. Therefore, consume curd or buttermilk daily. You can also eat homemade fermented pickles. It is also a good source of probiotics.

Isabgol

Along with all these things, consume Isabgol before sleeping at night. It contains an abundant amount of fibre. Therefore it is beneficial for stomach-related problems like irritable bowel syndrome. When taken with warm water, it regulates bowel movements the very next day.

Method

  • Take 1 teaspoon of Isabgol with warm water before sleeping at night.

Apart from these measures, try to change your diet, exercise and reduce stress along with medicines prescribed by your doctor to control the symptoms.
