Pickle is the pride of the kitchen and it adds charm to the main course of day or dinner. Today we have brought you the recipe for making Amla pickle. Let us know how you can make it.
Ingredients for making Amla pickle:
Amla - 500 grams
Mustard oil - 200 grams
Asafoetida - ¼ teaspoon (ground)
Fenugreek seeds - 2 teaspoons
Celery - 1 teaspoon
Salt - 4 teaspoons
Turmeric powder - 2 teaspoons
Red Chilli powder – less than 1 teaspoon
Yellow mustard – 4 teaspoons (coarsely ground)
Fennel powder – 2 teaspoons
Recipe:
First of all, wash the gooseberries thoroughly 3-4 times under running water. Then, place them in a large vessel, add 2 cups of water, and let it boil. Let the gooseberries boil on low flame for about 10 minutes. Once boiling, turn off the flame and let them cool. After it cools down, remove the seeds.
Heat mustard oil in a deep frying pan or kadhai till it smokes. Switch off the flame and let it cool for a few minutes. Then add asafoetida, fenugreek seeds, and carom seeds. Fry them in hot oil.
After this, add turmeric powder, fennel powder, red chili powder, coarsely ground yellow mustard, and salt in the pan. Mix the spices well in the oil.
Now add boiled and deseeded gooseberries to the mixture of spices and oil. Mix gooseberry and spices well.
Your amla pickle is ready to enjoy!
