This halwa is neither made from flour nor semolina, but it is made from oatmeal. Ingredients used to make Rajasthani Lapsi are Desi ghee, jaggery, coconut, cashew and green cardamom. Wheat is made by roasting it well. Not only this, it is roasted for at least 10 minutes.
You can use sugar to sweeten it, but adding jaggery doubles up the taste of lapse. To make the halwa tasty, you can also add almonds and raisins to it. First heat the ghee in a pan. Add ground cardamom and oatmeal to it and mix well. Fry it for about 8-10 minutes until light brown. Now pour about 3 cups of water into it and cover it properly. Let it cook for 8-10 minutes.
Now add finely chopped jaggery, coconut and cashew pieces to it, then mix it well. Cook it for the last 5-6 minutes. When the jaggery melts completely and it becomes thick, then lassi is ready. Rajasthani Lapsi is now all over the neighbourhood.
