If any person steals the goods given by the Railways, he may have to face jail along with a fine. Guidelines have been issued by the Railways in this regard.

This many years will be in jail

This rule has been issued by the Railways that for stealing goods, there will be a jail term of 5 years and also a fine. Stealing goods in this way is legally wrong. Action will be taken against such passengers under the Railway Property Act 1966. There is a provision of a maximum of 5 years of jail under this Act.

Railways suffered loss worth lakhs

Let us tell you that due to these habits of passengers, Railways has suffered a loss of lakhs of rupees this year. Railways have said that apart from bedsheets and blankets, passengers also steal spoons, kettles, taps, and toilet bowls, due to which the Railways are facing huge losses because every year millions of people travel and new luggage has to be arranged for them again and again.

From which route are more goods stolen?

Based on a report by the Railways in June, people steal railway goods extensively in the trains of Bilaspur zone of Chhattisgarh. Blankets, bedsheets, pillow covers and face towels are continuously being stolen in long-distance express trains running from Bilaspur and Durg. People have lost sheets and blankets worth around Rs 56 lakh.
