- In Sanatan Shastra, there is a law to do devotion to attain God. For this, seven days of the week are dedicated to the deities. Sadhaks worship the Gods and Goddesses according to their faith. There are many strict rules for worship. It is necessary to follow these rules. If the rules are not followed, then many problems have to be faced.

-Light mustard, sesame, and pure ghee lamps in front of the deities. For this, make a wick out of cotton and light a lamp in front of the deities. Generally, two types of wicks are lit. In this, one wick is round and the other wick is long. There are rules for lighting the wick.

-According to religious scholars, lighting a long wick brings happiness and prosperity to the house. Along with this, there is also an increase in wealth and glory. However, light a long wick in front of the Mother Goddess. For this, light a long wick in front of Maa Durga, Maa Lakshmi, Maa Saraswati, and Maa Parvati. Apart from this, light long wick lamps under the family goddess and deity and Amla tree. Lighting a long wick lamp in front of Goddess Lakshmi increases wealth and fortune.

-While worshiping the ancestors on Amavasya and other days, light a lamp with a long wick only. This gives the blessings of the ancestors.

-According to the scriptures, it is auspicious to light a round wick lamp while worshiping the deities with a round wick. For this, whenever Mahadev, the god of gods, Lord Sri Hari Vishnu and Brahmadev, the protector of the world, and other gods are worshipped, light a round wick lamp. Due to this, Mother Lakshmi always resides in the house. Also, light round wicks while worshiping Peepal and Banyan trees.
