How to Prepare for JEE Mains Exam 2024: The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main exam for admission to IITs and NITs is scheduled to start on January 24, 2024. Only a few days are left to prepare for JEE Main exam, one of the toughest exams in the country. In such a situation, it is important to make good use of time in the last days, so that maximum marks can be obtained in the examination. JEE Mains is one of the most prestigious entrance exams for admission to engineering colleges in India. This examination is conducted twice every year, once in January and the second in April. The examination consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 consists of 30 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

The paper comes in English, Hindi and Gujarati language for the candidates belonging to Gujarat, Daman Diu and Nagar Haveli. 4 marks will be given for each correct answer, 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer, while 0 marks will be given for unanswered questions. Paper 2 consists of questions from General Aptitude, Drawing and Mathematics only. For Mathematics and Aptitude Tests, online, drawing test will be conducted in offline/pen-paper mode.

Practice Previous Question Papers for JEE Mains

If any of your subjects are weak, then try to solve previous years' question papers as much as possible. This will strengthen your grip on the topic and will also increase your confidence. To score good marks in JEE, it is very important to solve previous years' question papers, which makes it easier to understand the question paper format of the subject and strengthens problem-solving skills. Practicing questions helps in revising the topics studied and also reveals where your preparation is lacking.

Select NCERT Books for JEE Mains

Generally, NCERT books are considered the foundation for competitive exams. Since it is also helpful for board exams, students should study NCERT books thoroughly.

Avoid reading new topics for JEE Mains

There is no room for self-doubt in JEE preparation. Do not try to study such subjects or topics at the last moment, which you have not studied during your preparation. If you try to study new topics at the last moment, it can affect your preparation.

Do as much revision as possible for JEE Mains

Try to practice as much as you can of what you have read so far, because the more you practice, the stronger your grip on the subject and topics will be. Revision helps in building a mind map, which reduces the need to read the entire syllabus word by word. Try to make notes by writing the entire topic in one place, so that it can help in covering it efficiently in last-minute revision.

Give mock test for speed for JEE Mains

Now is the time that students should focus on giving as many mock tests as possible. This will help students to understand the exam pattern, marking scheme, and questions asked in the exam and identify their weaknesses. Give as many mock tests as possible as per the exam time. With this, you will be able to adapt yourself to the examination environment. While answering the mock test questions, candidates should focus on accuracy as well as speed to complete the exam on time.
