Prime Minister Narendra Modi said during an event on Saturday that his government is seriously considering drafting laws in simple and Indian languages. Inaugurating the International Lawyers Conference, Prime Minister Modi said that the language used in laws plays an important role in ensuring justice in the judicial process.
Laws should be in the language the people of the country can understand.
Prime Minister Modi said in his address that 'Our government is thinking that laws should be presented in two ways. One draft will have the language that you use and the other draft will have such language that the common man of the country can understand. People should feel that the law is for them. The Prime Minister said that our country has a habit of drafting laws in difficult language.
PM Modi praised the legal fraternity
Praising the legal fraternity, Prime Minister Modi said that the judiciary and the bar have long been the guardians of India's justice system. Many people belonging to the legal profession played an important role in the independence of the country. The Prime Minister said that great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, BR Ambedkar, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Sarkar Vallabhbhai Patel were lawyers. The Prime Minister also mentioned the success of women's reservation, G20 and Chandrayaan Mission. He said that India is working hard to achieve the goal of becoming a developed country by 2047. The PM said that fair justice plays an important role in increasing the world's trust in India.
