In today's times, if the phone suddenly switches off while it is on, it can cause a lot of trouble. Because, many tasks are done by phone, from making payments to checking mail. You may also be aware that as the smartphone gets older, its battery does not last as long as before. But, we also start damaging the phone's battery knowingly or unknowingly.

Actually, most people put their phones on charge while sleeping. People do this because after waking up the phone gets fully charged. But, by doing this the phone's battery starts getting damaged.

This is the reason
The life of most batteries is measured in charge cycles. Regarding iPhone batteries, Apple says that any major difference is noticeable only after about 500 charging cycles. When you charge the phone overnight, it stops after getting 100 percent charged. Then after some time, when the battery falls to 99 percent, it starts charging again. This process is called battery trickle. In such a situation, the charge cycle gradually starts reducing.

A feature is provided in iPhones to prevent battery trickle. It is understood when you go to sleep and wake up. Charges the phone accordingly. In such a situation, keep in mind that you have turned on this feature by going to Settings. Most Android phones do not have this feature, in such a situation you can turn on battery optimization. Even iPads do not have this feature. In such a situation, battery trickle occurs in these devices also.

What is the correct practice in this situation?
The phone should not be left charging overnight. You can charge the phone at a time when the phone is in your sight or you are busy somewhere for a while.
To increase the battery life of the phone, it should be charged when the battery is between 20% to 80%.

One should avoid charging the phone 100 percent.
Complete shutdown of the phone should be avoided.
Extreme temperatures also damage the phone's battery.

One thing in this is that if you upgrade the phone every two years, then you do not need to think much about charging.
