What is the rule on not buying a train ticket?

Yes, many times thousands of rupees are demanded from passengers for not taking tickets. However, in reality, the TT can only charge you for your journey and ask for a fine of Rs 250.

For example, suppose you are going from New Delhi to Varanasi without a ticket. In such a situation, TT can charge you the ticket amount from New Delhi to Varanasi and a fine of Rs 250.

What to do if you don't have a train ticket?

You must have often heard people saying that platform tickets must be bought. Actually in case of an emergency when we do not have a ticket, then we can show the platform ticket to TT. Many times it becomes difficult for the passenger to prove to the TT from where he boarded. In such a situation, having a platform ticket saves you from difficulties.

Learn another train ticket trick

If you are not able to buy a ticket in case of an emergency, then you can also get a ticket deducted from TT after boarding the train. TT will give you the ticket immediately.
