If it is said that in today's time, the way of doing almost all the work has changed and is continuously changing, then there may not be two opinions on this. For example, if you see, there has been a huge change in the banking sector. Where earlier you had to go to the bank for every small and big work, now most of the work is done online. Like- someone has to transfer money and now through UPI, you can send money to anyone in a jiffy. In the midst of all this, payments can now be made by speaking through UPI. Yes, it is going to happen. So let's know about it without delay. You can learn about this in the next slides...
The Reserve Bank of India i.e. RBI is now going to link UPI with Artificial Intelligence i.e. AI technology. This will happen so that then people will be able to pay through UPI by speaking. Giving information about this, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said that a proposal is being prepared to start the facility of conversational payments.
How is the payment done now?
If you see, at present, if you have to pay someone from your bank account, then you have to pay by filling in his account number, IFSC code, and other information. On the other hand, payment is done by entering the PIN through a mobile number in UPI and there is currently no option to pay by voice.
Will be able to pay by speaking in these languages
In times to come, people will be able to transact on UPI by interacting with an AI-powered system. Soon this facility will be available on smartphones and feature phones. Not only this, initially people will be able to use it in two languages Hindi and English. After this, other languages will also be added to it.
RBI has proposed to increase the one-time remittance limit of Rs 200 to Rs 500 through offline platforms including UPI Lite. However, the limit of the total payment to be made from them has been kept at Rs 2 thousand only.
