Problems like bone weakness and arthritis were known as problems that occurred with aging till a few decades ago, however now people are becoming victims of it even at a younger age. Due to poor lifestyle and dietary disturbances, the risk of arthritis is being seen even in people under 30.

According to a report, fifteen percent of people over the age of 30 suffer from osteoarthritis. It is one of the most common forms of arthritis that affects millions of people worldwide.

Although it can be challenging to identify the symptoms of osteoarthritis at the age of 20 to 30 as they can often overlap with other conditions of busy and lifestyle. However, it can be identified by paying attention to persistent joint pain and stiffness, decreased flexibility of joints, and problems in the knees.

The increasing problem of osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis occurs when the protective cartilage that supports the ends of bones starts to deteriorate. Although osteoarthritis can damage any joint of the body, this disorder most often affects the joints of the hands, knees, hips, and spine. It is common for this problem to occur in bones with age, although due to conditions such as physical inactivity, and the habit of sitting for long, young people are also becoming victims of it.

The symptoms of osteoarthritis can usually be controlled, but the damage to the joints cannot be cured. Experts have suggested three important measures to prevent this problem of arthritis.

1. Control your weight

According to a report published by Johns Hopkins, studies show that this problem of arthritis in the knee can be prevented by reducing weight. With increasing weight, additional pressure on the joints also starts increasing. Due to the pressure that remains often, stiffness in the muscles of the joints starts increasing. Health experts say that the better your body weight is controlled, the better you can avoid joint problems.

Obesity and fat tissue also produce certain proteins that can cause harmful inflammation in and around your joints.

2. Improve diet

By taking care of your diet from an early age, you can reduce the risk of joint problems to a great extent. A mixture of avocado and soybean oils is widely used in Europe to treat knee and hip osteoarthritis. It acts as an anti-inflammatory and studies have shown that it can also help slow or prevent joint damage.

Joints can be kept healthy by including things containing omega-3 fatty acids such as fatty fish and nuts in the diet.

3. Do regular exercise

Regular exercise is also very important to prevent joint problems. Light-level exercises are beneficial in increasing your stamina and strengthening the muscles around the joints. Exercises like walking, cycling, or swimming are very beneficial for you in preventing joint pain and reducing problems like arthritis. Physically active people have been shown to have a lower risk of arthritis.
