This is the way to get an FIR done from home:-

Step 1
If you do not want to go to the police station and get an FIR done, then you have to go to the official website of the police of your state, if you are a resident of Delhi, then you have to go to the official portal of Delhi Police

Apart from this, you can send your complaint to the police station through any e-communication medium

Step 2
Keep in mind that when you get an e-FIR done, give complete information about the incident in detail

You also have to give your name, your complete information

Along with this, if there are any important documents, then attach them here too, so that your complaint can be strengthened

Step 3
When you have got an e-FIR done, it will be sent to the investigating officer for initial verification

Then the officer who will investigate it will ensure that he can start the preliminary investigation whether there is a prima facie case or not, it will take a maximum of 14 days.

Know these things:-
If you send a complaint through e-communication, it will be recorded within three days and an FIR will be registered.
After the search report is done within 24 hours, it will be presented before the court.
A copy of the FIR will be given to the complainant free of cost.
