What is the history of the temple?
It is believed that the history of this temple is linked to a demon named Arunasura. Arunasura was blessed with the boon that neither any two-legged creature nor any four-legged creature would be able to kill him. Due to this pride, Arunasura started torturing the earth.
Troubled by the atrocities of Arunasur, Mother Durga had to come to earth. It is believed that to eliminate Arunasura, Goddess Durga transformed herself into a rock. Arunasur was about to crush the stone when the mother took the form of a bee. A huge swarm of bees attacked the demon and he died.
