Understanding the need for nutrition, National Nutrition Week was started by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. National Nutrition Week is a campaign of the Government of India, which aims to ensure that people understand the importance of the right diet and include food rich in nutrients in their daily lives.

Under this campaign, National Nutrition Week is organized every year from 1 to 7 September across India to spread awareness about the right diet among the people.
