Coronavirus has been a serious risk globally for more than three years. There are reports of increasing cases of infection due to new variants in many countries. The new variants emerging these days are sub-variants of Omicron, which has been seen growing rapidly across the world in the last year. The World Health Organization (WHO) has advised all people to be cautious regarding Corona and keep following preventive measures. The way infections have increased in many countries, is this a sign of the return of Corona?

According to media reports, there is a continuous mutation in Coronavirus, due to which the risk of new variants developing is increasing. The risk of infection also increases with new variants. Recently, there has been a sharp increase in cases of coronavirus infection in the UK-US and Singapore. How worrying is this? Are health risks rising again globally?

Let us know, due to which new variants the danger is expected to increase.
Cases have increased in UK-US due to Pirola variant

Omicron's Pirola variant (BA.2.86) remains a cause of great concern for health experts in the US-UK and many other countries. This new variant was first identified in July this year, and since then it has grown rapidly in many countries. Studies have shown that this is the variant of Omicron with the highest number of mutations so far. BA.2.86 has 35 new mutations, more mutations mean it can easily dodge the body's immunity.

Patients in hospital increased due to Aris (EG.5) variant
The World Health Organization (WHO) has classified this variant of Corona as a 'Variant of Interest'. Preliminary research shows that this new variant of Corona, EG.5, is a variant of Omicron XBB.1.9.2. Compared to its parent strain, it has two additional spike mutations (Q52H, F456L). These mutations make this variant more infectious.

It has been found to infect people with weak immunity or chronic diseases more rapidly, which is why cases of infection have increased rapidly in many countries.

Increasing cases in Singapore alerted
Recent reports of Corona have alerted us about the increasing dangers in Singapore. Cases are being reported here mainly due to two variants EG.5 and HK.3. Both of these are sub-variants of Omicron XBB. It is being said in some reports that due to the increase in the cases of infection in the country, there is a fear that another wave of infection may come.

Is Corona coming back?
New variants of Corona and the increasing number of patients due to it are again raising concerns, in such a situation the big question is, is Corona coming back? In this regard, experts from the University of London say that certainly, the increase in cases of infection is a serious matter of concern, but the possibility of a global risk due to this is less. Viruses constantly mutate to keep themselves alive. The rate of vaccination has increased across the world, the body has developed immunity against the virus due to infection or vaccines, hence the possibility of danger due to new variants is less. Although all people should continue to make efforts for prevention, there is a need for everyone to continue paying attention to COVID-19 Appropriate Behavior.
