According to government figures, more than 70 percent of the people in India are non-vegetarian, many of whom are fond of mutton. This food item is kept in the category of red meat, which contains excessive fat, due to which there can be a risk of obesity, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and heart attack. In such a situation, it is better to avoid it, but many people like the taste of mutton so much that it becomes difficult for them to give up the consumption of this meat.

Healthy option of mutton
Now, those who are giving up or avoiding non-veg may get a better option in the coming days. Scientists of the National Mushroom Research Centre, Solan, for the first time in India, are doing research on such mushrooms, whose taste can be like mutton and chicken.

Benefits of 'Veganmeat'
The name of this new type of mushroom will be 'Veganmeat'. Researchers have claimed that it will contain more protein than chicken and mutton. Not only this, its color and texture will also be like mutton. According to the information, the amount of sodium and fat will also be reduced, which will reduce the risk of high BP and high cholesterol. At present, research is being done on the technology of preparing this mushroom.

You can eat mushrooms instead of mutton
According to Dr. VP Sharma, Director of the Directorate of Mushroom Research, people who are fond of non-veg foods but cannot eat mutton due to high fat content, can enjoy mushrooms with a similar taste. With its help, it will become easier to maintain health.

Research is still going on
Research has already been done in DMR on mushrooms which are beneficial for health, research has been done on this food in other countries too, but these countries do not give information about how to make it. This is the reason why even the scientists here are not sharing much information regarding this. Dr. Brijlal Atri and Dr. Anuradha Srivastava are researching this mushroom.
