Often people have to face the problem of traffic jams on the road. Many times it happens that even the fire service and ambulance get stuck in the jam. But do you know that blocking the way for an ambulance can result in heavy fines and even jail time? According to traffic rules in India, stopping emergency vehicles is an offense. Today we will tell you in our news what punishment can be given if someone blocks the way of an ambulance.

You must have often seen ambulances moving fast on the roads with sirens blaring. The reason behind playing the siren in the ambulance is so that the vehicle standing ahead on the road knows that the ambulance is coming and has to give way to it. The condition of most of the patients who go to the hospital in an ambulance is serious. Therefore, it is very important to take them to the hospital on time.

However, many times it happens that people do not give way to the ambulance in traffic, due to which the patient dies due to lack of timely treatment. If someone deliberately blocks the path of an ambulance, he may face trouble. Not only this, the person may have to pay heavy challan. In fact, he may even go to jail.

According to Section 194E of the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019, obstructing the path of fire service, ambulance or emergency vehicles specified by the state government can lead to a jail term of up to six months or a fine of Rs 10,000 or both. Therefore, if you are going on the way and you see an ambulance, do not try to block its path even by mistake. If you try to block the way for an ambulance, you can go to jail. Along with this, the fine may also be imposed.
