To promote entrepreneurship and empower women, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has made some changes under the Mission Shakti program ahead of the Lok Sabha and Odisha Assembly elections. Under this initiative, self-help group members can get loans up to Rs 10 lakh without any interest.
Patnaik made the announcement during the inauguration of Mission Shakti Bazaar in Bhubaneswar to encourage women's entrepreneurship and take forward the Mission Shakti movement in the state. Let us know about it.
What will be the benefit?
Describing the initiative as special, Patnaik also said that the interest-free loan will work to improve economic empowerment, helping SHG members to do their work without any financial problems.
Mission Shakti Program interest-free loans will promote entrepreneurship among women, which will take the Mission Shakti movement forward in the state.
Along with this, the market aims to make marketing of SHGs products across the state easy and convenient.
Let us tell you that Mission Shakti Bazaar will offer more than 1,000 products from handicrafts, handloom, food products, forest products, health and personal care products, traditional jewelry, household and kitchen both online and offline.
Got a loan of Rs 15000 crore this year
Let us tell you that Rs 145 crore was released for interest refund. The government prepared a plan to set up 5,000 Mission Shakti markets in the next five years.
Under this, Rs 730 crore was allocated to 70 lakh women SHG members and Rs 1.5 lakh was allocated to Mission Shakti leaders to purchase uniforms and blazers.
Apart from this, this year SHGs received a loan of Rs 5,000 crore and in the coming 5 years they will get Rs 75,000 crore for this purpose.
