Miso soup is a famous soup in Japan, but you will be surprised to know that it is famous not only in Japan but all over the world. People eat it with great fervour.

Japanese miso soup has created fame not only in Japan but all over the world. Miso paste is prepared from fermented soybeans. Various vegetables and ingredients like tofu, cabbage and chicken are added to this soup. This soup is easy to make and can also be prepared for parties. Chicken Miso Soup is the perfect comfort food that will keep you warm in cold weather. This is a light and tasty soup which can be prepared in very less time. This soup is often served with rice in Japan and you can make it with rice or noodles if you want. For this Chicken Miso Soup, we've used a few basic vegetables.

Pour water into a vessel and boil it. When it starts boiling, add miso paste and mix it well. Add chopped chicken, ginger, garlic, shiitake mushrooms, soy sauce and salt to the pot. Mix and let it cook for 10-12 minutes.

Now put cabbage in the soup and mix. Cook for 5 more minutes and check whether the chicken is cooked or not and then take the pot off the heat.

Pour the soup into bowls, garnish each bowl with 1 tbsp chopped spring onions and serve.
