Mansi Ganga Govardhan: In our country, Ganga is not called a river but Ganga Maiya, and its water is considered very sacred. Gangajal is used to sanctify the place before the rituals and this belief is everywhere. But do you know that there is also a lake in India whose water is considered more sacred than the water of the Ganges? If not, then let us give you this information today.
This lake, which is considered more sacred than the water of the Ganges, is located in the ancient city of Mathura, known as the city of Kanha. This lake also has a mythological belief and even today people take water from here. Spiritual guru Gaurang Das gave this information. He told that the name of this lake is Mansi Ganga Govardhan and it is one of the most sacred lakes in Mathura. The water of this lake is considered more sacred than the water of the Ganges. The belief associated with this lake is that Lord Krishna and Radha Rani used to ride in a boat on this lake.
There are two mythological stories about this lake. According to this, Lord Krishna revealed this lake here to get rid of the sin of killing a bull at the behest of the Gopis. After this, by bathing in it, Vrish was freed from the sin of killing.
On the other hand, according to another legend, it is believed that Lord Krishna along with Radha Rani used to go boating in this lake. Because of this, there is a ritual of donating lamps along with worshiping here.
The person who bathes in Manasi Ganga gets freedom from all sins and gets fruits equal to thousands of Ashwamedha Yagyas.
