Google may start manufacturing Pixel smartphones in India during the next quarter of this year. Nikkei Asia has claimed in one of its reports that Google can start manufacturing Pixel smartphones in India in the next quarter. Let us tell you that Google had announced to make its smartphones in India long ago. Last year i.e. in October 2024, Google for India announced that they want to produce Pixel 8 Series in India. Apart from this, Google had also promised that the first Made in India smartphone of Pixel will be made available in 2024.
According to the report, Google is preparing to set up a factory for Google Pixel 8 Pro in South India soon. Insiders say the plan is to start manufacturing the phone between April and June. After this, Google will also start manufacturing Pixel 8 smartphones in North India at the end of this year.

With this move, Google aims to reduce its dependence on China for smartphones and enter the huge and growing Indian smartphone market. In 2023, Google shipped around 10 million Pixel smartphones and now this year the company wants to increase this number. Google will start manufacturing the Google Pixel 8 Pro in South India, and then by the end of this year, it will also start manufacturing the Pixel 8 in a factory in North India.
