What is low BP?

Normally a person's BP should be 120/80 mmHg or around it. If your BP is less than 90/60 mmHg, it is called low BP. Low blood pressure means that the blood pressure in the veins is lower than normal. Due to low blood pressure in the veins, blood is not able to reach the heart, brain and other parts of the body properly. Many times symptoms of low blood pressure are not visible in people. However, it should not be avoided. If your BP remains low for a long time, it can cause many problems. Many times, when you stand up suddenly, the BP of some people suddenly becomes low.

Diet for low BP

  • Although excessive amounts of salt in food can be harmful, if your BP remains low, then you should pay attention to sodium intake. The amount of salt in the diet should not be reduced.
  • However, the amount of salt should be kept under control. Too much salt can also cause harm.
  • People whose BP remains low, should not starve for a long time. Being hungry for a long time can also be the reason for low BP.
  • Dehydration can also be a reason behind BP being low. Therefore, take care of the amount of water in the body. Drink at least 7-8 glasses of water a day.
  • Apart from water, make liquids like fruit juices a part of your diet.

  • Let us tell you that excessive water can also cause water toxicity. In such a situation, drink water only in limit.
  • If your BP often remains low, then definitely drink buttermilk. Mix roasted cumin and salt in buttermilk. This will help in maintaining the correct BP level.
  • Consume caffeinated drinks. But don't drink it in excess and don't drink it shortly before sleeping.
  • Make seasonal fruits and vegetables a part of the diet.
  • If your BP remains low for a long time, then definitely consult a doctor.
