The risk of corona infection has remained worldwide for more than three years. According to recent reports, cases have increased due to the new variant of Aris in many other countries including the UK. Since this variant has also been seen in India, health experts advise everyone to continue taking preventive measures. Long Covid also remains a big threat amidst the dangers of new variants of Corona.
Long Covid, also known as a post-Covid syndrome, is a long-term health problem after recovery from infection. The researchers found that many people were seen to have problems with long Covid even after a year. Post Covid problems are usually seen in the form of symptoms like heart, lungs, respiratory problems, and loss of taste and smell, but many unexpected symptoms have also been seen.
Covid experts say that while such problems need serious attention, their long-term health risks can be serious. Let us know about some such symptoms of Long Covid.
Problems caused by long covid
In recent research, scientists found that the condition of long covid can have side effects on the whole body. Corona has been considered a respiratory infection, scientists have found that even after the lungs have recovered from the infection, organs such as the heart, liver, and kidney can be affected by Covid. The risk of smell or taste problems, chest pain, shortness of breath, or brain fog due to long Covid can last from weeks to a year.
Risk higher in people with severe disease
Reports from the National Library of Medicine suggest that long Covid usually affects people who have been suffering from severe Covid symptoms. Apart from this, people with underlying health problems, unvaccinated, and those who have a history of multisystem inflammatory syndrome (inflammation of organs such as kidney and brain) may be at higher risk of post-covid syndrome.
It is being said in some reports that the risk of long covid can also be in those who have been suffering from mild symptoms.
Blue Feet new problem
Recent studies on the risks of long covid have found that some people may have blue feet in it. In a study published in The Lancet journal, researchers found that long Covid is associated with acrocyanosis, a condition in which the patient's feet turn blue when standing.
This research paper authored by Dr. Manoj Sivan of the University of Leeds reported that a 33-year-old man developed acrocyanosis due to post-Covid syndrome.
These symptoms developed after Covid
According to the details of the study report, the patient's feet started turning red one minute after standing and turned blue over time. After 10 minutes this color became very much evident in the feet. However, after he sat down, the legs came back to their old position again. The patient told that these symptoms were seen only after his Covid-19 infection.
Health experts say that everyone has been alerted about the dangers of Covid and its long Covid.
