The Lohri festival is going to come in a few days. If you also want to make something special at home for the guests at this festival, then Dal Makhani will prove to be a great option. It is very easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole urad dal
  • two teaspoons of salt
  • 1 inch of ginger
  • two tablespoons butter
  • a spoonful of oil
  • Two teaspoons of Shahi Jeera
  • 1 teaspoon Kasturi Methi
  • 2 cups tomato puree
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • a spoonful of sugar
  • 1 ½ cups cream
  • 3-4 long chopped green chilies

Method :

  • First of all, mix lentils, chickpeas, and ginger in a cooker or a deep vessel and keep it for boiling.
  • Boil the dal till it becomes soft.
  • Now heat butter in a pan or kadhai and add cumin, musk fenugreek, and roast it.
  • After this add tomato puree, salt, chili, and sugar and cook it well.
  • Now add boiled dal to it and mix it well.
  • Keep in mind that the dal should not be too thick or too thick.
  • You can add water as needed to get the right texture.
  • Now cook it without covering it for some more time.
  • Finally, garnish it with cream and green chilies and serve hot.
