History of National Housewife Day

A homemaker or housewife is someone who is in charge of taking care of the home when the rest of the household is out for work. The name of this day may be Housewife, but it is not limited to just wife or mother. In today's modern era, this word can be used for every person who is taking care of the house. Be it a man, our parents or any member of the family. However, usually women i.e. mothers or wives do this work.

It is not clear when Housewife Day was celebrated for the first time. However, many people believe that this day was first celebrated by a housewife, who felt that despite working day and night, her contribution was not appreciated. Although, this day is not as popular as other special days, but still it should be celebrated.
