Severe cold continues in Jammu and Kashmir. The minimum temperature in Srinagar on Thursday was minus 3.8 degrees Celsius, while Jammu recorded the lowest temperature of this season. Meanwhile, more than half of Dal Lake has frozen. A thick layer of ice has accumulated on the lake.

While Kokernag recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2.44 degrees Celsius, Shopian was the coldest place in the Kashmir valley at minus 5.5 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature in Kupwara city of North Kashmir was recorded at minus 3.9 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in the famous ski resort Gulmarg was recorded at minus 4.2 degrees Celsius. Jammu recorded the coldest night of the season, with the minimum temperature recorded at 4.7 degrees Celsius.
