When will Jagannath ji's Rath Yatra start?
This year, the second date of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month is starting at 11.25 am on June 19. This date will end on June 20 at 01.07 pm. In such a situation, Jagannath ji's Rath Yatra will be taken out on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, considering Udaya Tithi. After this, on the tenth day of Ashadh Shukla Paksha, all three will be brought back to their place.
Why is Jagannath Rath Yatra organized?
Every year in the month of Ashadh, on the second day of Shukla Paksha, Lord Jagannath (Lord Krishna) along with elder brother Balarama and younger sister Subhadra visits the house of his maternal aunt (Gundicha). On this day they are carried on three different chariots. After this, all three are taken to their aunt's house i.e. Gundicha temple through Rath Yatra.
