Women have become so empowered that they are flying the flag in every field. From arms to literature, the role of women is increasing. While women are in the defense department of the country, they are flying planes as doctors, engineers, and pilots. There is one such woman, who is a truck mechanic.

Have you seen any female truck mechanics around? You may not have seen it, because this is not a normal job for women. But 32-year-old Yedalpalli Adilakshmi, a resident of Sujatha Nagar village of Kothagudem in Telangana, is a truck mechanic. She is probably the only truck mechanic in Telangana who repairs trucks, repairs their engines, and even changes heavy truck tires.

Woman becomes truck mechanic
Adilakshmi was born into a poor family and never thought that one day she would become a mechanic. Adilakshmi started this work only to help her husband, Veerabhadram, because Veerabhadram had to work away from home for Yedlapalli to earn money.

Even when Adilakshmi gave birth to her second child, Veerabhadram could not come to her due to his work, which made Adilakshmi feel very bad. Then she thought that she would open an automobile shop for her husband in the village itself and help him so that Veerabhadram could live with the family. Adilakshmi used to help her husband at the shop, but many customers would turn back after seeing a female mechanic. This made him feel disappointed, and his income was also decreasing.

Took responsibility for the husband
She then improved her skills by watching her husband fix punctured tires. Similarly, while helping her husband, she became an expert mechanic. Telangana Rashtra Samithi honored him for his work and gifted him a tire-changing machine as well as other machines that could make his work easier.
