The Indian Navy and DRDO on Tuesday successfully tested the indigenously developed Naval Anti-Ship Missile. This test was conducted from Seeking 42B helicopter. This test is a very important step towards becoming self-reliant in important missile technology. During the test, top officials of Navy and DRDO also kept an eye on this test.
Let us tell you that in this test conducted by the Indian Navy, the seeker and guidance technology of the missile was also tested. Let us tell you that hitting the target of any missile is a part of guidance technology. How effective a missile is depends on its guidance technology. In the video released by the Navy, it is seen that an Indian Navy helicopter flying over the ocean fired an anti-ship missile, which successfully hit its target. Earlier in May last year also, the Navy in collaboration with DRDO had successfully tested anti-ship missile.
Let us tell you that the Government of India is trying to make the country self-reliant in terms of defense production. To achieve this objective, DRDO, Defense Public Sector Undertakings and Ordnance Factory Board are playing an important role. Right now our country is largely dependent on foreign countries for the supply of arms, but now the government is making agreements for the manufacture of arms and transfer of technology in the country to stop the import of arms. Currently, four missile systems are being developed in the country through the Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme, which include Prithvi Missile, Akash Missile, Trishul and Nag Missile System.
