Metro will run between ten islands
Yes, you heard it right. There is news that this metro running in Kochi will run between not one but ten islands. In the first phase, the Water Metro will run between High Court-Vypin Terminal and Vittila-Kakkanad Terminal. Apart from this, it is reported that the second route will run to Vytila and Kakkanad. This metro train will be air-conditioned like other metro trains.
Excellent ticket facility for tourists
Keeping in view the tourists, the minimum fare for the water metro running on both routes has been kept at around Rs.20 and the maximum fare at around Rs.40. Apart from tickets, weekly, monthly and quarterly passes will also be available for this metro train. Let us tell you that mobile QR tickets can also be booked through the Kochi One app.
Water metro will have special facilities for tourists
Keeping in mind the local passengers and tourists, special facilities have been arranged in the water metro. It has ramp facilities for the disabled, feeding chambers for mothers and mobile recharge facilities.
For your information, also tell that 50 to 100 passengers can sit in each metro. Apart from this, Metro will provide services for 12 hours daily at an interval of 15 minutes. Right now there are 23 boats and 14 terminals/stations in the beginning. You can also enjoy beautiful and mesmerizing views from this floating metro.
