Independence Day is very special for everyone. Every year on 15th August, we Indians celebrate our independence. Everyone celebrates this special day in their own way. Flag hoisting takes place in all colleges, schools and offices and then sweets are distributed. Many offices have a holiday on this day.
If you also have a holiday on this day, but you are thinking of celebrating Independence Day in a different way, then this time you can celebrate Independence Day by making Tricolor Pulao at your home. This will be a unique way to make this day special.
If your child is going to school, then you can also give him Tricolor Pulao by putting it in his lunch. It tastes very delicious to eat and it looks delicious. So let us tell you the recipe of making Tricolor Pulao.
Green Pulao
Basmati Rice - 1 cup (cooked)
Spinach - 1 cup
Green Chillies - 2-3
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt - according to taste
Method
To prepare green pulao, first heat oil in a pan. Now after the oil is heated, add cumin seeds and let it turn golden. Now add finely chopped green chilies and spinach. Cook the spinach until it becomes soft. When the spinach is cooked, add salt to it and mix well. Green Pulao is ready. Keep it aside.
White Pulao
Basmati Rice - 1 cup (cooked)
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt - according to taste
Method
You will not have to work hard to prepare white pulao. For this, first heat oil in a pan. Now add cumin seeds to it. After the cumin seeds are roasted, add cooked rice and salt to the pan and mix well. Your white pulao is ready.
Saffron coloured pulao
Basmati rice - 1 cup (cooked)
Carrot - 1 cup (grated)
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt - as per taste
Method
To make saffron coloured pulao, heat oil in a pan. Now add cumin seeds to the pan and fry it till it turns golden. Now add finely chopped carrots and let it cook. When the carrots are cooked, add salt to it and mix well. After mixing well, take it out in a plate.

Now to make tricolor pulao, put a layer of saffron pulao in a bowl. After this, put a layer of white pulao on top of it. Finally put a layer of green pulao. Press all three well, so that when you take it out by turning it upside down, it gets deposited like a cake. When you take it out by turning it upside down on the plate, the saffron colour will come on top and green below. Now you can serve it with raita.
