Tips to Identify Real and Fake Mawa: The preparations for Rakshabandhan are on. During this time many people like to make sweets with their own hands at home. For which Mawa i.e. khoya is bought from the market. But keep in mind that real and fake mawa can be adulterated on this occasion of the festival. By eating this you can have many health-related problems. In such a situation, it is necessary to identify whether Mawa is real or fake.

Try dissolving mawa in water: To identify whether mawa is real or fake, you can try putting mawa in water. For this, take a glass of water put some mawa in it, and leave it. If Mawa is real then it will dissolve in water. Mawa does not dissolve quickly in water when it is fake.

Try rubbing it on the palm: To identify mawa, you can try rubbing it with your hands. For this, put a little mawa on your palm and rub it with your finger. If it is real, then ghee will start oozing out of it. On the other hand, if it is fake, it will not rub easily and will remain tight.

Check the fragrance of mava: You can also find out whether it is real or fake by smelling the fragrance of khoya i.e. mava. Let us tell you that the sweet smell of milk comes from the real Mawa. But fake Mawa is completely odorless or sometimes it smells of surf or soap.

Test with iodine tincture: You can take the help of iodine tincture to identify whether mawa is real or not. For this, take some mawa and make round cakes of it. Then put two drops of iodine tincture on it and leave it for five minutes. If the Mawa is fake then the color of the tincture will turn black. If it is real, the color of iodine tincture will remain saffron.

Taste Mawa: Even by tasting Mawa, it's fake or real can be detected. Please tell me that on testing the real Mawa, its taste is slightly sweet. On the other hand, fake mawa is bland in taste or has some bitterness.
