Yoga mudras are simple hand gestures that activate the flow of energy within the body. Mudras are also often used in classical dance forms, as a means of conveying a story or expressing emotion.

The mudras in yoga are known to provide healing power to the body to reduce physical and emotional ailments. Using the right yoga posture is also known to help people lose extra weight and stay fit.

Yoga pose for weight loss

Yoga has been traditionally practiced to keep the body and mind healthy. The breathing techniques taught by yoga help to improve concentration and mindfulness. While yoga has evolved over the years, it remains true to the core of Ayurveda.

Yoga considers the five elements, namely - 'water', 'earth', 'sky', 'air' and 'fire' as the main focus points in our body. Any imbalance caused by these elements usually results in diseases or poor health. Yoga postures help in restoring the balance between these elements and prepare the body to fight any future diseases.

Today we will tell you about a pose that will help you reduce belly fat. Also, doing this mudra daily will reduce your weight. Increasing the Agni of the stomach accelerates your metabolism. This mudra is known as Surya Mudra. You know that when you are overweight, then the earth element is in a high state.

In the process of weight loss, many women find it difficult to lose fat due to poor digestive health. The fire element present in Surya Mudra is known to improve digestion by increasing the body. Regular exercise can go a long way in reducing obesity.

Surya mudra for belly fat

You know that weight increases due to being in the high state of the earth. So we have to reduce that extra earth element and we have to burn that extra fat deposition. So do Surya Mudra.

Surya Mudra or Agni Mudra, as it is traditionally known, represents the element of fire. Doing this mudra activates the fire energy in the body and allows you to restore the fire balance. By doing mudra, the fingers make connections and facilitate the flow of energy in the body.

Method of sun pose

  • Two fingers thumb and a ring finger are used to perform this mudra.
  • The ring finger is earth and the thumb is fire, so we have to reduce the earth element.
  • Therefore, place the thumb on the ring finger and the ring finger on the tip of the ring finger.
  • In this way touch, the base of the thumb and the other three fingers are extended.
  • Do this for at least 5 to 10 minutes daily.
  • Then you will see the result by itself.

She further wrote, 'We are engaging with every new trend to keep healthy. Most of the time these new trends are giving results for a short period. If we consider all these then it will be a common thing to always depend on some external sources for our health. These are all quick fixes, trying to give some Band-Aid for our actual problem. Without knowing our body there will be no permanent solution.'
