Next week is also the last day of the current financial year along with the long weekend. Keeping in view the financial year, the department has decided to open the Income Tax Office on the long weekend of next week also.
Regarding this, today the Income Tax Department has issued a circular informing that all Income Tax offices will remain open from 29 to 31 March 2024.
This time it is Good Friday on 29 March 2024. March 30 is Saturday and March 31 is Sunday. On the other hand, March 31, 2024, is the last day of the current financial year 2023-24, due to which the Income Tax Department has decided to cancel the long weekend.
Let us tell you that if this decision is not taken by the department, then the taxpayer gets only 3 days to complete the tax-related work. This week also, due to Holi (Holi 2024), all Income Tax Department offices will remain closed on Monday. In such a situation, this step has been taken by the department to provide convenience to the taxpayers.
