Most of the states of the country are in the grip of severe heat waves these days. Health experts consider rising temperatures to be very harmful to health. Due to heat stroke, there may be problems like low blood pressure, change in heart rate, fainting, and dizziness.
You must have heard and seen cases of fainting and dizziness in many people due to exposure to heat and strong sunlight. Often such people do not get proper treatment on time, due to which there can be a risk of their health getting worse.
Keeping these things in mind, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India has issued necessary guidelines to deal with the heatwave. Health experts said that if you or someone is feeling dizzy due to sunburn, then they should be given some first aid so that the symptoms can be prevented from worsening. However, doing some things while unconscious can also cause harm to health. Let us know about this.
What to do if you feel faint or dizzy due to heat?
The Health Ministry said in a post on Twitter that if you are feeling faint or dizzy due to heat, then first of all give water to the body to save it from the problem of dehydration. If possible, take off your clothes and immediately go to a cool place. Most of the cases of fainting and dizziness occur due to dehydration of the body and body temperature becoming higher than normal. In such a situation, these measures can provide relief to a great extent.
Do not give water to an unconscious person
Health experts say, to keep in mind that an unconscious person is unable to swallow anything, in such a situation one should avoid forcefully feeding him anything. In case of unconsciousness, food or liquids may reach the lungs instead of the stomach, which increases the risk of respiratory problems.
Check the heart rate and blood pressure of the unconscious person, if it seems very high or low then he should be taken to the doctor immediately.
Airway breathing should not be obstructed
To ensure that the unconscious person does not face any problem in his airway and continues to breathe properly, lift his chin and tilt his head slightly to one side. Make sure the unconscious person is breathing well. If he has any problem breathing, CPR can be given as necessary. If there is no relief in symptoms even with the help of normal treatments and the person is not regaining consciousness, then immediately take him to the nearest hospital without any delay.
