Cases of heart disease are increasing year after year. Young people are also becoming its victims now. Health experts say that bad lifestyle and dietary problems can be the main reason for this disease. People who have someone in their family who already had heart problems should be more careful considering their genetic risks. If heart-healthy methods are included in the daily routine from an early age, then one can remain safe from problems related to it.

Heart disease or cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a major cause of death in India, this burden is likely to increase even more. These problems are being seen more especially in urban areas due to high blood pressure, diabetes, and increasing belly fat and obesity.

Statistics show that heart disease is responsible for one-fourth of the deaths due to all types of diseases in India. The increase of some conditions in the body can be very dangerous for your heart, which should be taken care of seriously.

World Heart Day is celebrated every year on 29 September to increase awareness about heart disease and related diseases and educate people about its prevention. Let us know which things are harmful to the heart.

Increased blood pressure is harmful.

Increased blood pressure and cholesterol levels are considered to be the main factors for heart disease. High blood pressure is also known as a 'silent killer' because it usually does not cause symptoms. In case of high blood pressure, the heart has to work harder to pump blood. This problem, which persists for a long time, thickens the walls of the pumping chamber of the heart.

Apart from this, due to the pressure caused by high blood pressure, there is also a risk of rupture of the vessels carrying blood to the heart, which can lead to serious heart problems. It is also considered to be a major factor in heart attacks.

Keep cholesterol under control.
Just like high blood pressure, high cholesterol also hurts heart health. Actually, due to high cholesterol, fat starts accumulating in the walls of blood vessels, which obstructs the flow of blood in the arteries. These deposits can break down and form clots, in such a situation, blood circulation to the heart can be reduced or stopped, which gives rise to problems like heart attack or stroke.

Danger from excessive stress too
If you think that only increased cholesterol and blood pressure cause damage to the heart, then be careful. If you are often under stress or are a victim of depression, then this can also lead to the risk of heart disease.

Due to stress, the level of a hormone called cortisol increases in the body. If you often have problems with stress, then due to the side effects of the cortisol hormone, the level of sugar, cholesterol, and triglycerides also starts increasing along with blood pressure. All these are harmful to the heart.

Diabetes patients should also be cautious.
There is a deep connection between heart disease and diabetes. If you are a diabetic and your sugar level is often high, it can also affect your heart. High blood sugar can cause serious damage to your blood vessels and nerves. Nerves become very weak in patients with diabetic neuropathy.

Due to damage to blood vessels, the risk of heart-related problems can increase significantly. Diabetics also have a higher risk of developing heart disease at a younger age than those without diabetes.
