Recently, Gujarat's famous cardiologist Dr. Gaurav Gandhi died of a heart attack. He had performed heart surgeries on more than 16 thousand patients. Health experts say, we must be alert now, cases of heart disease are becoming more serious now. Inculcate the habit of taking measures to keep the heart healthy from an early age.

What do cardiologists say?
We spoke to Delhi's leading cardiologist Dr. Amit Bhardwaj to understand the rising cases of heart diseases and how to prevent them. Dr. Amit says, there has often been a discussion about the side effects of disturbances in lifestyle. The habits of daily life which are the most harmful, often go unnoticed by us.

Lack of sleep and exposure to loud vibrations of sound are two of the major factors which are currently responsible for more than 30 percent of heart attack cases.

Lack of sleep can be dangerous
If you do not get enough sleep regularly, it not only causes problems like fatigue and weakness, but it can also increase your risk of heart attack. In one study, researchers found that people who typically slept less than 6 hours a night had twice the risk of heart attack than those who slept 6 to 8. Lack of sleep can trigger high blood pressure and inflammation, both of which are not good for your heart.

Avoid loud noises
Researchers have found in a study that increased vibration due to high bass sound playing in festivals is very harmful to the heart. Even though we do not realize it, it can cause a lot of damage to the heart muscles, increasing the risk of sudden heart attack. People frequently exposed to loud noises were found to have three times the risk of heart attack, stroke, or cardiovascular problems, compared to people living in low-noise areas.

Take steps to keep your heart healthy
Dr. Amit says, the way the cases of heart disease are increasing, it has become necessary that we keep trying to keep it healthy from an early age. Along with keeping the lifestyle and diet right, it is very important to include yoga in the routine. It is very important to improve these by paying attention to the risks of sleep and sound noise. People of any age are not safe from it, even children under 5 years of age have also been seen to have problems with heart disease.
