Side Effects of Eating Too Much White Rice: White rice is the most important diet in the world, it is cooked and eaten in many ways. This food provides you with energy and can maintain your physical health. Many of us cannot imagine our daily meals without white rice. Ayushi Yadav, former dietician of GIMS Hospital, Greater Noida, said that we should not eat excessive white rice as it can cause much harm to our health.
Disadvantages of eating too much white rice
1. Risk of diabetes:
White rice is one of those food sources which has a very high glycemic index. The greater its quantity, the more it will increase blood sugar. This increases the risk of diabetes. This is the reason why it should be consumed in limited quantities only, and diabetic patients should also avoid it.
2. Lack of vitamins and minerals:
White rice itself can be seen as having minimal nutritional content compared to other grains. It is not a rich source of fiber, vitamins, and minerals which are necessary for the body to function properly. Lack of these nutrients at the right level can lead to bone, teeth, and many other types of problems. Additionally, it can weaken your physical immunity. Therefore it is advised to eat more whole grains.
3. Risk of weight gain:
White rice can increase weight due to its energy level. It contains a lot of calories which if you eat in excess, can increase your belly and waist fat. People who want to lose weight quickly should consult a dietician and decide its quantity because if you do not do so then it will be difficult to lose weight despite all efforts.
4. Problem of constipation:
White rice has low fiber content, which can cause constipation. Fiber is important for our body because it helps in keeping the digestive system healthy and helps in preventing constipation. If you're consuming white rice, make sure you're also consuming other fiber-rich foods, such as pulses, vegetables, and other whole grains.
