How to Deal With Weight Stigma: If you pay attention, you will find that most of the people around you want to lose weight, the reason for this doesn't need to be that they are very conscious about their health, but often they are worried about others. One has to hear taunts from people about being fat. World Obesity Federation has made shocking revelations about obesity, according to them, calling people fat causes serious harm to the mental health of children and adolescents, which includes depression and anxiety.

Stop saying 'motu'

If you harass someone with words like lazy, glutton, fat, and bad-looking, then be alert today because it can cause weight stigma. There are many misconceptions and stereotypes about being overweight in our society which need to be changed. WOF recently published its statement in the journal Obesity Reviews on ways to deal with this crisis.

Who are the fat people?

According to the World Obesity Federation, obesity should be associated only with those people who have been diagnosed with obesity, these are those people who have excessive or abnormal accumulation of fat on their body and it is a threat to their health. Any overweight person should not be called by such words which are used as a stigma or taunt.

There is also pressure on the mother who gives birth.

World Obesity Federation also said that when a woman gives birth to a child, after the first 6 weeks she feels pressure to return to her pre-pregnancy weight. Due to such social pressure, they have to face post-delivery depression which is dangerous.
