Juicy Makoy, easily available in rural areas, is considered very miraculous in Ayurveda. Makoy not only changes the taste of mouth but also cures many diseases of the body. Both fruits and leaves of Makoy are beneficial. This Makoy plant is found in any field of paddy, wheat or maize in a place under the shade of a tree. Makoy plants grow especially in the winter season. Without any care they grow as weeds.

Lightly sweet to eat, very effective for health,

this Makoy is called Makora in Bundelkhand. It is small in size and black in colour, which is sweet and sour in taste. According to Ayurveda, eating Makoy fruit cures fever, eczema and respiratory problems. Its fruits are green when raw and yellow, red and purple when ripe. Purple Makoy is sweet to eat. It looks like a tomato, but its size is much smaller. Its plant looks like a chilli plant, which cures body disorders.

Just pluck the fruit, wash it and eat it.

Ayurvedic doctor Dr. Deepti Namdev told that it is a wild fruit. By consuming it, serious diseases like fever and jaundice go away. Anti-inflammatory properties are found in this fruit. It is also used in eczema. Even today, Makoy trees are easily found in the forests. Women in rural areas often give its fruit to their children when they suffer from cough and cold. This fruit should be consumed after plucking it from the tree and washing it.
