3. Leafy vegetables

Leafy vegetables such as spinach and fenugreek are rich in nutrients, but overcooking them can reduce their benefits. Long cooking can convert the nitrates in these vegetables into nitrites, compounds linked to cancer.

4. Grains

Honey is often touted as a healthy option, but heating it at high temperatures can turn it into hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF), a substance linked to cancer.
