This tree was brought from other countries long ago, later it is now cultivated all over India and also grows on its own in South India. Its tree is small and the stem is clean and the bark is light blue. It is called Sitaphal because Mother Sita gave this fruit as a gift to Lord Rama during his exile, From then on it was named Sitaphal and it is also known as Custard Apple.
