Many types of nutrients are needed by the body to keep it functioning optimally. All the nutrients including vitamins, proteins, and iron help in keeping all the organs healthy and their functions in a better way. Elements like Vitamin C and D can help reduce the risk of many serious diseases along with increasing the body's immunity.

Health experts say, there can be a risk of developing diseases due to lack of nutrients in the body, but if their quantity increases then it can also cause risk. In case of excess of many nutrients, the risk of serious kidney diseases increases.

Let us know about the side effects of deficiency and excess of some such elements.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C is one of the most popular nutrients, it helps in increasing the immunity of the body. Due to a lack of Vitamin-C in the body, there can be a risk of irritability and anorexia. Apart from this, you are at risk of skin-related problems like non-healing of wounds, teeth-gum problems, and infectious diseases.

On the other hand, if the amount of Vitamin-C in the body becomes too much, then it can cause kidney stones in severe conditions along with stomach upset and diarrhea.

Vitamin D
The body gets Vitamin D through food and sunlight. It is considered essential for the immune system and bones. Due to the deficiency of Vitamin D in the body, along with the weakening of the immunity system, the level of calcium also starts decreasing (hypocalcemia). It is also believed to be the cause of a disease called rickets (softening of bones in childhood).

At the same time, excess Vitamin D is also harmful, due to which too much calcium can be formed in the body, due to which bones can become weak and kidney-heart can be damaged.

Iron
Iron is a major component of our blood, its deficiency leads to anemia. When your body does not have enough iron to produce hemoglobin, you may be at risk of this disease. Anemia has also been found in studies to increase the risk of heart disease-dementia in severe cases with problems like weakness-fatigue.

But note that if you consume too much iron, then it is also harmful. Excess iron in the body can cause damage to the liver, joints, pancreas, and heart.

Health experts say that all nutrients should be consumed in the right quantity. It is better to get it through diet rather than supplements.
