Major changes in many conditions related to health insurance are expected in the new year. One of the major conditions is related to age. It is being said that the age limit for health insurance can be removed in the coming year. After which it will become easier for people above 65 years of age to get an insurance policy.

A proposal was brought by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India to remove the maximum age limit for taking a health insurance policy. Insurance companies can bring health insurance for five years as well as general insurance and standalone companies can bring insurance policies for three years.

The condition of being admitted for 24 hours will also be abolished.
It is also believed that health insurance holders can get great relief from the condition of 24-hour hospitalization. The government has been considering changing this rule for a long time. Discussions are going on with the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India. So that the public can be provided relief from this big rule.

Regarding the removal of the time provision, Justice Amreshwar Prasad, Chairman of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, says that nowadays there are many such surgeries, which end in a very short time. At present, to avail of the benefits of health insurance, patients are required to stay in the hospital for at least 24 hours. If this deadline is not met, the patients' claims are rejected.

In the month of August, a big decision was also made by the District Consumer Court of Kerala and Punjab regarding health insurance. In which the court reprimanded the health insurance companies on the condition of 24-hour hospitalization. It was also decided to provide insurance benefits to the patients. Since then the discussion regarding this rule has been going on. From which relief can be provided soon.
