Using the wrong shampoo can damage your hair. Often we all make some mistakes while shampooing. Today in this article, Dr. Aanchal Pant will tell you some common mistakes related to shampooing.

Applying shampoo to slightly wet hair

Often we make the mistake of using shampoo on slightly wet hair, but this should not be done. Lightly wet hair requires more shampoo. Also, more pressure is required for the shampoo to be applied throughout the hair.

Therefore, hair should always be completely wet. After this, only shampoo should be used. Shampoo applies well to wet hair. Adequate lather is produced, which helps in cleaning the hair easily and removing all the dirt.

Quick shampooing

Do you know for how long you should use shampoo on your hair and scalp? Probably not. Such ingredients are found in shampoo, which helps in reducing sebum. The scalp is cleaned with shampoo. Leave the shampoo to be absorbed into the scalp for at least 3-5 minutes. By doing this the scalp will be cleaned properly.

Using shampoo only on the top scalp

Cleaning only the upper scalp will not make the hair healthy. It is important to apply shampoo thoroughly to the entire scalp. This is a common mistake that most people make. Use shampoo only on the upper scalp. Shampoo should be applied to the entire scalp, from front to back. This is the area where dandruff and lice problems can occur.

Using medicated shampoo

Do you also use medicated shampoo for your hair? If yes, then stop doing this now. Medicated shampoos are used for problems like dandruff, and seborrhea. Their use reduces scalp dryness, but this is not cosmetically correct.

If you are using medicated shampoo, then do not forget to wash your hair with regular shampoo after this. Using medicated shampoo causes hair to become dry and frizzy. Therefore you should always use regular shampoo. Then apply conditioner. By doing this the hair will remain shiny and smooth.
