Hair loss has become very common in men these days. Although this problem used to happen earlier also, due to the rapid change in lifestyle for almost a decade, this disease has increased. According to many medical reports, at the age of 15 to 30, about 25 percent of people are facing the problem of hair loss, while by the time they reach the age of 50, this problem of baldness in the head of men increases up to 50 percent.

Well-known endocrinologist from Delhi Dr. Sanjay Kalra is here to tell about the causes of increasing hair fall and baldness in men and also how to get rid of this lifestyle-related disease. Dr. Kalra says that by dividing the causes and preventive measures of this disease into five parts, one can easily understand and try to regain hair growth.

Dr. Kalra says the first reason for baldness in men is the genetic makeup ie our appearance which we inherit from our father. Hair also comes from this heritage. Men who have more male hormones i.e. masculine hormones, have more problems with hairfall. This is called Androgenetic Alopecia. Even with age, these hairs start decreasing in the same way. The problem of hair fall is found more in those whose fathers or brothers also have this problem.

The second is nutritional, that is, the way the body needs nutrition, in the same way the hair also needs nutrition. And if we do not eat a balanced diet, then within a few days our hair also becomes damaged, lifeless, or starts breaking down. A balanced diet includes macronutrients like proteins, carbohydrates, and fats, but along with this, some micronutrients are equally important for hair. These nutrients are iron, zinc, and vitamins, etc. Even if there is a deficiency of these in the body, hair falls.

The third is psychological, that is, our skin and our hair are the mirror of our minds. If someone is under a lot of stress then his hair becomes weak and starts falling. Nowadays there is a lot of stress on men, in such a situation there is a problem of hair fall or hair loss due to psychological reasons as well.

Fourth is hair care practices, that is, the way hair needs nutrition, in that way hair also needs care. Applying the wrong types of gels, oils or chemicals on hair, pulling them or tampering with them also leads to hair fall.

Fifth is the environment, if it is too hot, too dusty or too cold, then this also affects the health of the hair. Apart from this, due to continuous stay in places with high pollution, the hair gets damaged and starts falling.

Dr. Kalra says that to prevent hair loss and to keep the hair on the head, it is very important that first of all keep the food and drink right. Keep a sufficient amount of vitamins, iron, zinc etc. in the food. Stay away from stress, and learn to manage stress. Use good quality chemical-free shampoo in your hair. Do not apply chemicals or colors to your hair unnecessarily. If you have to go to a place where your hair may be damaged, cover your hair with a cap etc. Whatever are the causes of hairfall or hair loss, take proper care of hair by identifying them.
