What is frostbite?
The problem of frostbite often occurs in snowy valleys. When the temperature is very high. But due to the kind of cold these days, the problem of frostbite can also occur. When our body comes in contact with very low temperatures, many delicate parts of the body start becoming numb. In this, the ear lobes, nose tips and fingertips become completely frozen. Blood circulation stops at these places. Due to this, the colour of the skin appears red, white, yellow or blue. The skin also becomes hard. Hands and feet freeze completely. It seems as if there is no life in that place. Your tissues get damaged due to cold.
How to protect yourself from frostbite
- The only way to prevent this is to protect your body from exposure to temperature.
- Always try to stay warm, and cover the body with woollen and warm clothes.
- If you are facing this problem in your fingers then rub your hands. This increases blood circulation and also provides warmth.
- Instead of sitting in one place, children should keep walking now and then.
- If your toes or fingers have become completely stiff, soak them in lukewarm water for some time.
- If there is frostbite in the ear lobe, then warm the ears by wearing a hat. You can also apply gum compress.
